As General Manager, I’m lucky to work alongside the amazing team who are the heart of Danby Castle Barn. From the office staff who work closely with our couples to bring their wedding day to life, to our chefs who ensure every dish leaves the kitchen to the highest standard, to our floor team who deliver impeccable service time and time again. The venue itself is a dream. This beautiful historic building, surrounded by the wildly romantic landscapes of North Yorkshire, offers the most dramatic and breathtaking backdrops. But my favourite part will always be our couples. Getting to know their unique story and seeing the joy, love, and emotion on their wedding day is a privilege that never stops being special.

My part in your love story
As the Lead Wedding Consultant at Danby Castle Barn, I have the pleasure of being the first point of contact for many couples. I love showing them around the venue and helping them envision their perfect wedding day. It’s such a privilege to be part of each couple’s journey as they plan one of the most important days of their lives.
My favourite part of Danby is definitely the barn itself. With its character and rustic charm, it provides the perfect backdrop for a truly magical wedding day.

I am the lead wedding coordinator and your calm, supportive presence on your wedding day. I support couples in bringing their vision for their wedding to life and ensuring their day runs smoothly. I still get goosebumps during first looks and always carry tissues, as I can’t help but tear up at the ceremony and speeches.

My part in your love story
Hello, I’m Katherine, one of the wedding coordinators at Danby Castle Barn. I help plan and coordinate beautiful weddings, supporting couples from the planning stages right through to the big day. I work closely with each couple, managing timelines, and take care of all the finer details to ensure everything runs smoothly. My aim is to create a relaxed, stress-free experience and make sure your wedding is exactly as you’ve always dreamed! And when it’s time to dance, I always recommend “Sophie Ellis Bextor – Murder on the Dancefloor” to get everyone on their feet!

Head Chef
My part in your love story
As Sous Chef, my role is to prepare and cook delicious canapés and a three-course wedding breakfast designed to delight the senses. My favourite dish to create is Chicken Supreme stuffed with basil, mozzarella, and sundried tomatoes – a perfect balance of flavours that always feels special to serve.
Richard Huggins
Estates Manager
My part in your love story
As Estates Manager my role is to ensure that the venue is maintained to the highest possible standards, this includes the grounds, all internal guest areas, and offices. Through daily inspections I identify where attention is needed and rectify any issues either myself or using contractors where necessary.
My role also includes some of the venues Health and Safety requirements such as fire and water hygiene testing together with ensuring all records are correctly maintained. In addition, I assist colleagues with the preparation for ceremonies and receptions.
My favourite part of the venue is the old ruins which are steeped in history and have some amazing views across the Esk Valley.
